To further illustrate that most water damage contractors don't know the principals behind so called drying science one of the worlds largest restoration concerns makes the following statement on there website.

" Our dehumidifiers were  selected because they are capable of reducing high humidity and moisture levels to normal levels quickly. Moisture that is not removed through extraction must be removed by dehumidification. The air is circulated over and under surfaces, causing the moisture to evaporate into the air. Warmer air is capable of holding more moisture, so the warm, dry air from the dehumidifier collects the moisture from the air. "

This is a untrue statement that is counter to the established law of physics. Warm air does not suck up water like some sort of spong.  Either the suits at corperate don't not know what they are talking about or they have managed to build dehumidifiers that break the laws of physics. They don't build there own equipment and the laws of physics are the laws of physics.
